A School in Droylsden – Enhanced Acoustics, Lighting Efficiency, and Natural Daylight
We recently completed a transformative ceiling installation project at a school in Droylsden, aimed at improving the overall learning environment for both students and teachers.
Our team installed a new suspended ceiling system throughout several classrooms, designed specifically to improve acoustic performance. The upgraded ceiling helps to reduce echo and noise levels, making it easier for students to focus and for teachers to communicate clearly — a crucial enhancement in any educational setting.
To complement the acoustic improvements, we replaced the existing lighting with low-energy, high-output LED lighting. These modern fixtures not only provide better and more consistent illumination but are also 50% more energy-efficient than the outdated lighting systems they replaced. This upgrade will significantly lower the school’s electricity bills and contribute to a more sustainable facility.
In a thoughtful design detail, we angled the new ceiling structure to slope towards the classroom windows, allowing maximum natural daylight to flood into the rooms. This not only enhances the ambience and comfort of the space but also supports student well-being and productivity by making the most of available daylight.
The result is a brighter, quieter, and more energy-efficient learning environment — a project that demonstrates how smart ceiling design can make a real impact on everyday educational spaces.
