A Swimming Pool in Northwich – Acoustic Improvement with Specialist Ceiling Installation
We recently completed an exciting and technically demanding ceiling installation project at a swimming pool in Northwich, designed to tackle a persistent issue that was affecting the usability of the space.
Previously, the pool suffered from significant sound reverberation, with echoes bouncing off every surface. The pool is primarily used for swimming lessons for babies and young children, meaning that the high volume of noise made it difficult for instructors to communicate and created an overwhelming environment for both parents and learners.
To address this, we collaborated closely with Rockfon, a leader in acoustic ceiling solutions. Our team installed a specialist suspended ceiling system using a fully waterproof grid and high-performance sound-absorbing ceiling tiles. These materials are specifically engineered to withstand the humid, moisture-rich environment of a pool area while delivering exceptional acoustic performance.
To maintain proper air circulation and prevent condensation build-up, we also integrated egg-crate diffusers, ensuring that airflow through the ceiling remains efficient without compromising the soundproofing.
The results were immediately noticeable. The reduction in noise levels is dramatic, creating a significantly calmer and more controlled atmosphere around the pool. Both instructors and visitors have already reported a much-improved experience.
This project showcases how tailored ceiling solutions can transform challenging acoustic environments into comfortable, functional, and pleasant spaces.
